The DarkStar - Reading Fringe!
The Reading Fringe Festival is an award-winning festival, started in 2013 by a marketeer, a producer and a writer. The Reading Fringe aims to support local emerging artists, provide an affordable platform for artists travelling up to the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe and to welcome exciting, vibrant acts to the town from all over the world. It is an incubator for a range of art forms - painting, sculpture, dance, poetry and drama and more all have a chance to shine on the Reading Fringe stage.
Since it was started, the Fringe has won the Pride of Reading Award for Cultural Contribution 2014, Festival of the Year at the inaugural Cultural Awards 2017. It is, largely, run by volunteers and supported by a number of Patrons - all of whom are invaluable to making the Festival a success. It was nominated for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2015. DarkStar - Reading Fringe is proud to be part of such a worthy event.
As part of the event, DarkStar - Reading Fringe have been asked to provide the party venues, lights and sound for a silent disco (you need sound, even for a silent disco!) to be held on Station Hill (right next to the railway station, unsurprisingly!) in Reading on the evening of Friday, July 27th. Our expertise covers all parts of the event spectrum, from small, intimate private parties to festivals and larger outdoor events. Our talented team have a lot of experience with public events - we even ran the lights for a concert by the inimitable Rick Astley!
We are proud to be a sponsor and supporter of such a great event and we are always pleased to support the growth of talent in the arts. On a smaller scale, we regularly sponsor local amateur dramatic societies (such as the Silchester Players) and support local charities including the Loddon Lions and the Felix Fund (a fund to support members of the Bomb Disposal community).
There’s lots more information at their website.
